Dr. Yonghong Zhang received his PhD in radiophysics, and had his postdoc training in NMR structural biology. He joined The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2014 as an assistant professor of biochemistry. His research has focused on NMR-based structural studies of biomolecules and their complexes involved in biologicalprocesses, such as transcription factors regulated target gene expression, calcium mediated neuronal signal transduction. His current research interest is on molecular mechanisms of bacterial protein synthesis for antimicrobial drug development.
