Dr. Santha Muller is the Director and Associate Professor at the Fiji National University and the key person who initiated and established the MRL-Medical Research Laboratory at the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Fiji National University, which is first of its kind in Fiji to introduce laboratory based clinical and biomedical research.Dr. Muller has investigated many National and International research projects in India and USA and also collaborated with the School of Medicine, Tokai University, Japan as a part of International Genome Project and Department of Biomedical Sciences, Leiden University, Netherlands with a special focus on HIV, TB, and diabetes. Her area of research expertise is T-Cell immunology specialization in Flow Cytometry analysis, Immunodiagnosis, and Immunotherapy and currently investigating few projects in collaboration with the University of Oxford, UK, MoH, Fiji with a special focus on the Human Genetics, HIV/AIDS, related STIs, Oral cancer, and Yoga therapy.Research findings from MRL will be disseminating into practice in the Pacific for international collaborations, external funding for research and publications. In future, Laboratory Research will become an integral part of teaching and education with the development of the MRL as a Research Center for Fiji National University
